By taking lessons with us, you automatically agree to these Terms & Conditions.
Lessons & Tests
You must inform your instructor if there is any reason why you cannot drive safely or legally. This includes the loss of your valid driving licence, and also includes but is not limited to, being under the influence of drink or drugs, including prescribed medication that may affect your ability to drive.
Please ensure that you are medically fit to drive. If you have any medical condition and you are not sure if your ability to drive is affected, please speak with your doctor and the DVLA to report any notifiable medical condition.
You must be able to read a number plate from a distance of 20.5 metres.
Your instructor reserves the right to refuse to take you to your driving test if:
- You haven’t told them when your driving test is and they are unavailable.
- You haven’t moved your driving test date when they advised you to.
- They believe you are not up to test standard and therefore unsafe to be driving their tuition car by yourself on test.
Your instructor will discuss this in advance and provide you with the available options.
If your instructor books your test for you, the test will belong to GOPRO DRIVE Driving and we reserve the right to cancel your test at any given time. Once you have paid for your test, it will belong to you and we will only cancel or move it upon your request.
Some learners prefer to do lessons in their own car. This is acceptable, but you must ensure your car is roadworthy, taxed, has a valid MOT, and is insured for you to drive. Check that your insurance allows your instructor to supervise you in your car — some insurance companies do not allow this or have a minimum age limit for supervising drivers. It is your responsibility to ensure you are legally supervised. If you are planning to take your driving test in your own car, confirm that your insurance covers this.
Cancellations & Punctuality
- If you cancel your lesson with less than 48 hours’ notice, you will be liable for the cost of your lesson.
- If you do not arrive within 15 minutes of your instructor’s arrival and do not make contact, your lesson will be cancelled and charged.
- If you are late, your lesson time will be reduced but charged in full.
- If your instructor is late, you will still receive the full lesson time.
- If your instructor must cancel for reasons such as car breakdown, bad weather, heavy traffic, or an unavoidable delay, they will reschedule your lesson to a mutually convenient time.
- If your behaviour or attitude compromises safety, your instructor may cancel the lesson in progress and future lessons.
Payment & Refunds
- Your hourly lesson rate & 10-hour block booking rate is as agreed at the time of booking.
- We accept payments via bank transfer or gift voucher.
- All payments must be made before the lesson starts.
- Block bookings must be paid upfront before the first lesson.
- We cannot refund lessons already taken.
- Remaining hours from block bookings can be refunded at the original hourly rate paid.
Accidents & The Law
Your instructor will make every effort to avoid accidents and damage, but if you ignore instructions or drive dangerously and cause damage (e.g., to tyres), you may be expected to contribute to repair costs.
Your instructor will use verbal and physical control where necessary to avoid dangerous situations. However, any legal penalties (speeding fines, points, etc.) are your responsibility as the driver. Instructors are legally obliged to provide driver details to the police if requested.
All GOPRO DRIVE instructors hold Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance.
